Physiotherapy consists of many components of care to promote recovery: manual therapy, exercise, education, modalities, and a home program are all important aspects of your care. A Registered Physiotherapist is the only health professional that has years of study to ensure the proper treatment plan to optimize your recovery is created. Getting you from injured to recovered using physiotherapy involves special training in physiotherapy that only registered physiotherapists have earned a degree in.
Our therapists have numerous postgraduate advancements. We implement treatment programs specific to the patient needs to restore and maintain physical function; our comprehensive, evidence based treatment practices are used and quality care is our first priority.
Focus Physiotherapy Difference:
We are a physiotherapist owned clinic and we believe that fact set us apart from many other places that offer physiotherapy services. Many "clinics" that offer physiotherapy type services will tell you that they do not employ registered physiotherapists. Some will employ them on a part time basis only.
We believe people who have studied and earned a degree in physiotherapy are the best possible people to ensure the profession of physiotherapy is delivered according to best practices. Focus Physiotherapy believes in the duty of care we owe to our patients to ensure we provide the best possible recovery. Yet we go beyond that in trying to ensure you can prevent reinjury after having been treated by us.
Our reputation has been earned one patient at a time and we expect to continue growing by staying true to a formula that works. Placing the patient's recovery first and foremost!
Focus Physiotherapy practices patient centred care. Our treatment plant are centred around your needs and our initial assessment is how we determine the best way to meet your recovery and return to function needs.
We deliver personalized treatment solutions. We Focus on getting our patients better and provide the latest in the rehabilitation services in a proactive friendly environment. We are friendly and caring when you need us and will encourage you to persevere as well.
At Focus Physiotherapy we are Registered Physiotherapists and we manage, and treat disorders and injuries of the musculoskeletal system including rehabilitation after orthopaedic surgery. This specialty of physical therapy is most often found in the outpatient clinical setting. Yet our staff and vision is what sets us apart, we want to make difference in your recovery an in the communities we serve.
We are the local physiotherapy clinic that is part of the make up of your community; we will keep you active for sports, and healthy throughout your lifetime.
Our team is trained in the treatment of post-operative orthopaedic procedures, fractures, acute sports injuries, arthritis, sprains, strains, back and neck pain, sports injuries and spinal conditions.
Joint and spine mobilization/manipulation, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular reeducation, hot/cold packs, and electrical muscle stimulation (e.g., cryotherapy, iontophoresis, electrotherapy) are modalities often used to expedite recovery in the orthopaedic setting.

I have had these pains for years; can you get me better by Friday?
We get this one a lot! I wish we could but unfortunately the answer is no. You recovery depends on a lot of things one of them being how long you have had the issue in the first place. The best advice we can give is if something is bothering you today don't wait to get it looked at. Your health is the most important thing.
My neighbour had the same thing can't you just do that, why do you need to do an assessment?
Although many people have many similar types of pain. Our role as Registered Physiotherapists is to ensure you are accurately diagnosed for whatever ails you. Often times the thoroughness of the initial assessment we perform allows us to identify things that were missed at other clinics resulting in better recovery and a more satisfied patient.
How often will I have to attend physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is like diet and exercise it takes repeated exertions to progress and see results. Just like you would not expect to benefit from dieting or exercising once a week you can't expect to see results without following a consistent regimen. Your Registered Physiotherapist will outline the most efficient and effective path to recovery, the closer you follow the plan the quicker you will recover.
